Minister of Post, Telecommunications, ICT, and Science & Technology, Faqir Mahabub Anam, stressed the need for integration of technology and sports. He made this call on August 22, Saturday, at the Zahur Hossain Auditorium of the National Press Club, during a discussion marking the 57th birth anniversary of Arafat Rahman Koko.

Addressing the youth present at the event, organized by the Arafat Rahman Koko Sports Council under the slogan 'Sports, Unity, and Youth,' the Minister said, "Let us harness the power of our youth. Through a wonderful integration of technology and sports, let us build a new Bangladesh."

The Minister added, "Just as technology is fostering the intellectual development of the country's youth, there is no alternative to sports for physical and mental well-being. We aim to build a modern, healthy, and unified society that will lead in ICT and science, and also become world champions in cricket and other sports."

The meeting, presided over by the organization's president, Md. Saiful Islam Rashed, also featured speeches by BNP National Executive Committee Child Affairs Secretary Abul Kalam Azad Siddiqui, Rabindra University Vice-Chancellor Dr. Tahmina Akter Topi, Mohammad Fakhrul Islam, Marzina Sultana Ponu, and Ayesha Siddiqua Mani.

In his keynote address, Faqir Mahabub Anam reminisced about the life of the younger son of martyred President Ziaur Rahman and the late Khaleda Zia, stating, "For some reason, I feel that he went through a tragic period. The way he was harassed during General Moin's government; I believe the army of that time played a role in his demise. He could not tolerate it."

Recalling Koko's initiative to launch Under-19 cricket and training, the Minister urged organizers to work on other sports alongside cricket. He also assured all kinds of support from his side.
