Fake Facebook Facades Target Bangladesh Army Chief
Multiple fake social media accounts have been created in the name of Bangladesh Army Chief General Waker-Uz-Zaman, from which various misleading pieces of information are reportedly being disseminated.
The Inter-Services Public Relations Directorate (ISPR) revealed the matter in a press release issued on Wednesday night, August 13. In this regard, the Army has urged the public and the media not to be misled by any information circulated from these fake accounts.
The Army authorities stated, “The Chief of Army Staff has no personal Facebook or other social media accounts. In the future as well, he has no plans to personally operate such an account.”
The ISPR further informed that efforts are underway to identify those involved in spreading misinformation and to take necessary legal action against them.
