Infinix Note 60 Pro debuts with 3D IceCore vapor chamber cooling system

Lag-Free Gaming: The New Cooling Tech Keeping Phones Cool

Thermal management, an often-overlooked component of smartphone design, has become critical to sustaining performance during heavy use. Infinix has added a 3D IceCore vapor chamber cooling system to its new Note 60 Pro model, designed to keep the phone lag-free during extended gaming or heavy tasks. Similar vapor chamber cooling technologies are also found in various Samsung, Xiaomi, Realme, OnePlus, Oppo, and Vivo models available in Bangladesh.

When people talk about smartphone performance, the processor is usually the first thing that comes to mind. However, how well a phone performs over extended use depends heavily on something hidden beneath the surface: thermal management, or the phone's heat control system.

When a processor runs demanding tasks such as continuous gaming, video editing, or multiple heavy apps in the background, excessive heat buildup becomes the main obstacle to smooth performance.

Meanwhile, a smartphone's internal temperature rises too high, the processor's speed automatically drops to protect the hardware. This phenomenon is known in the tech industry as thermal throttling. While necessary for the phone's safety, it causes frame rates to drop during gaming, slows down touch response, and makes the device lag. As mobile gaming and content creation continue to grow in popularity, smartphone manufacturers are placing greater emphasis on cooling systems that can sustain performance even after prolonged use.

Keeping this consumer demand in mind, Infinix has equipped its new Note 60 Pro with a 3D IceCore vapor chamber cooling system. Instead of allowing heat to concentrate around the processor, the vapor chamber spreads it across the entire body of the phone, keeping the temperature under control even during long usage sessions. Infinix's goal is not simply to impress with benchmark scores, but to ensure users get reliable, consistent performance during extended use.

The benefits of this technology are most noticeable during long gaming sessions. On many ordinary phones, rising temperatures during extended gameplay lead to frame drops and slower performance. However, thanks to its advanced heat dissipation system, the Infinix Note 60 Pro avoids excessive heat buildup, allowing heavy gaming, multitasking, and processor-intensive tasks to run smoothly for longer periods.

Similar technology in other brands' phones
The importance of cooling technology is not limited to Infinix alone. Nearly all major smartphone brands available in Bangladesh now incorporate similar vapor chamber cooling systems in their devices.
Samsung's Galaxy S25 Ultra features one of the largest vapor chambers among current flagships, delivering reliable thermal control during extended gaming sessions. Xiaomi uses its Loop LiquidCool technology in premium models such as the Xiaomi 14T Pro, which relies on capillary action to circulate liquid and claims twice the cooling efficiency of conventional vapor chambers.

OnePlus's flagship, the OnePlus 12, features Dual Cryo Velocity Vapor Chambers with a heat-dissipation area of roughly 9,140 square millimeters — the largest cooling setup in the brand's history. Realme's GT series and the recently launched Realme P4x use a stainless-steel vapor chamber measuring around 5,300 square millimeters.

Oppo's A6 Pro comes with a SuperCool VC System featuring a 4,300 square millimeter vapor chamber and an expanded graphite layer, while its flagship Find X9 Ultra uses an even larger chamber. Vivo's T1 series and Y05 models also feature vapor chamber cooling systems capable of significantly reducing processor temperatures.

The growing focus on cooling technology is also changing how smartphone buyers make decisions. Consumers no longer look only at processor power; how long that power can be sustained without throttling has become equally important. This is especially relevant in a warm-climate country like Bangladesh, where phones already tend to heat up quickly due to high ambient temperatures, making effective cooling systems even more essential.

By incorporating advanced thermal solutions like the one in the Note 60 Pro, Infinix is signaling that it prioritizes consistent, everyday user experience over short-term speed alone. As smartphones are pushed to handle increasingly demanding tasks, cooling technology is no longer just a niche feature for gamers — it has become an essential part of delivering a fast, smooth, and reliable smartphone experience.
