Press Briefing Discloses Event Details & Logo; BDT 1.5 Lakh Prize Pool Declared for Young Innovators
'Robofusion 1.0' Robotics Festival Set for Aug 8 at Frontier Technology University
To foster technological innovation, creativity, and robotics skills among youth, 'Robofusion 1.0' is scheduled to take place on August 8, 2026. Organizers from the Robotics Club of the University of Frontier Technology, Bangladesh (UFTB) detailed the competition segments, timeline, and prize pool during a press conference held today, July 7.
Tuesday, July 7: Aiming to build a robust platform for engineering skills and technological ingenuity among the youth, the mega tech festival 'Robofusion 1.0' is set to take place on August 8, 2026. Organizers from the Robotics Club of the University of Frontier Technology, Bangladesh (UFTB) rolled out the updates. A press conference was hosted today at 12:00 PM on the university campus to unveil the event blueprint.
The theme for this edition has been anchored as “Innovate, Create, Automate”. Fakir Mahbub Anam Swapan, Honorable Minister for Postal, Telecommunications, and Information Technology, has consented to grace the mega event as the chief guest. Joining as special guests will be Mo. Mofizur Rahman (MP, Gazipur-1), Bobby Hajjaj, Chairman of the Nationalist Democratic Movement (NDM), and Sanjida Islam Tuli (MP). A popular education entrepreneur will also attend to motivate the participants.
The briefing was attended by UFTB Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Mohammad Abu Yusuf, Event Convener Ashikuchhalehin, Executive Member Md. Ashrafuzzaman, and Assistant Director (PR) Mohammad Shahdul Islam.
Highlighting event configurations, Convener Ashikuchhalehin stated that over 500 students, engineers, and tech enthusiasts from across the nation are expected to participate. To examine the participants' skills, the festival has been stratified into five competitive tracks:

Line Following Robot (LFR): An autonomous robot navigation layout on a predefined track.

Robo Soccer: An intense soccer tournament played out via custom-built robots.

Boat Racing: High-speed robotic boat maneuvering over water tracks.

Project Showcase: Exhibition of tech-driven models and deep research by young minds.

Techathon: A real-time sprint focusing on coding, innovation, and immediate problem-solving.
A prize pool of over BDT 1,50,000 has been set aside to reward the top three winners in each segment. Ashikuchhalehin added that over the past year, the UFTB Robotics Club has managed premium events like PCB design workshops, IoT seminars, Hybrid Electric Vehicle knowledge sessions, and signed a landmark MoU with the Bangladesh ICT & Innovation Network (BIIN). He hoped 'Robofusion 1.0' would serve as a launchpad to prepare youth for 4IR challenges.
Registration portals have already gone live for all universities and colleges. School and college students can join the festival as visitors by displaying their institutional uniforms and ID cards.
