DNCC sets up 1,905 centres and mobile outreach support
Vitamin A Drive Expands With Extended Access
Dhaka North City Corporation has prepared 1,905 service points for the National Vitamin A Plus Campaign 2026, combining fixed centres, mobile outreach and extended service hours to improve child health coverage.
The National Vitamin A Plus Campaign is scheduled to take place across Bangladesh on 28 June, with Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) announcing extensive preparations to maximise outreach and service delivery.
According to DNCC’s health department, a total of 1,905 centres have been prepared for the campaign, including 54 permanent and 1,851 temporary locations. A total of 3,810 volunteers will support implementation.
To strengthen field-level monitoring and operational quality, 183 first-line and 103 second-line supervisors will oversee campaign activities.
Under the programme, children aged 6–11 months will receive one blue Vitamin A capsule, while children aged 1–5 years will receive one red capsule.
Special outreach measures have been planned for underserved communities. DNCC will deploy four ambulance-supported mobile teams to reach children living in informal settlements and those located around bus terminals and railway stations.
Mobile service delivery will continue for four additional days after campaign day. Permanent centres will also remain open from 9:00am to 8:00pm to support working parents.
DNCC expects the extended schedule and mobile delivery approach to improve participation and expand Vitamin A coverage among eligible children.
