Mobile financial service provider Nagad has integrated Bangla QR and NPSB into its platform, enabling unified QR payments and real-time fund transfers across banks and MFS networks.
Mobile financial service provider Nagad has introduced Bangla QR and National Payment Switch Bangladesh (NPSB) services on its platform to strengthen interoperable digital payments.
With the new integration, users can make direct payments by scanning a unified Bangla QR code at nearly one million merchant locations across the country while also gaining access to instant transfers between banks and mobile financial service accounts.
The unified QR model is designed to reduce the need for multiple payment codes across different institutions and simplify digital payment acceptance for merchants.
Through NPSB connectivity, users can transfer funds between Nagad wallets, bank accounts and other MFS platforms in real time, improving interoperability across financial networks.
According to Nagad, the initiative aims to make digital transactions more accessible for both consumers and businesses, including small merchants entering the digital payment ecosystem.
Bangladesh Bank also organised an awareness campaign to encourage Bangla QR adoption, where participants used the system in live transaction scenarios.
The initiative reflects broader efforts to expand digital payment infrastructure and support wider adoption of cashless transaction practices in Bangladesh.
