Floral Tribute on February 21: UFT VC Honors Language Martyrs

On the occasion of Great Martyrs’ Day and International Mother Language Day, the Vice-Chancellor of University of Frontier Technology, Bangladesh, Professor Dr. Mohammad Abu Yusuf, paid deep tribute to the heroic martyrs of the Language Movement at the Central Shaheed Minar.

In the early hours of Saturday, 21 February, under the leadership of the Vice-Chancellor, teachers, officials, and employees of the university offered floral wreaths at the Central Shaheed Minar, expressing humble respect to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the Language Movement.

On the occasion, the Vice-Chancellor said that those who shed their fresh blood to uphold the dignity of the mother tongue will remain eternally remembered in the nation’s history. He stated that the Language Movement had sown the seeds of the country’s independence. Embracing the ideals of the martyrs, he affirmed their commitment to building a knowledge-based, humane, and justice-oriented society.

Present at the time were chairpersons of various departments, directors of different offices, hall provosts, the proctor, the Director (Student Welfare), along with teachers, officials, and employees from different departments. All paid profound respect to the memory of the language martyrs and expressed their determination to work collectively for the welfare of the nation.
