Rockstar Games Sets GTA 6 Price Tag and Pre-Order Date
Rockstar Games has finally revealed the official pricing and pre-order details for Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6), one of the most highly anticipated video games of the past decade. Reassuring gamers, the developer said the title will be priced in line with other premium AAA releases currently on the market.
Pre-orders for the game will begin at midnight on June 25. Players will be able to pre-order the title for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles.
Editions and Pricing
Rockstar is launching the game in two editions.
The Standard Edition has been priced at $80.
The Ultimate Edition will cost $100. The additional $20 package includes exclusive weapons, vehicles, outfits, and tattoos that can be used throughout various stages of the game's story.
Release Date and Pre-Loading
GTA 6 is scheduled for a worldwide release on November 19. However, players who pre-order the digital version will be able to pre-load the game starting November 12, allowing them to begin playing immediately once it officially launches.
A Curious Physical Edition
Gamers hoping to purchase a traditional disc-based physical copy may be disappointed. Rockstar has confirmed that the physical box version will not contain a game disc. Instead, buyers will receive a digital download code inside the package. As a result, the only difference between the physical and digital versions is essentially the plastic box itself.
Pre-Order Bonuses
Players who pre-order or purchase the game between June 25 and November 20 will receive the exclusive Vintage Vice City Pack.
Created as a tribute to the iconic 2002 title GTA: Vice City, the bonus package includes a custom '55 Vapid Stanier sedan and garage, a collection of 1980s-inspired outfits and hairstyles, and a signature Vice City-themed pastel-colored weapon skin.
Graphics and Realistic Details
Alongside the pricing announcement, Rockstar released several new screenshots showcasing the game's visual fidelity. The images feature the two main protagonists, Jason and Lucia, as well as scenes from Vice City's criminal underworld.
The screenshots highlight highly detailed tattoos, modern vehicles, and even marine life such as dolphins, demonstrating the game's remarkable level of realism and environmental detail.
Although the release date has been delayed twice in the past, Rockstar has now confirmed that the November 19 deadline remains on track. In a recent recruitment advertisement, the company described the launch as “the biggest game launch in history.”
