Huawei’s Hi-Tech Hatchbacks Hit Europe

At the IAA Mobility 2025 show in Munich, Huawei unveiled three electric SUVs under its AiTO brand. The models—M5, M8, and M9—feature advanced technology, flexible powertrains, and competitive pricing, positioning them as strong contenders in Europe’s crowded EV market, according to Arena EV.

The AiTO brand is a joint venture between Huawei and the Chinese state-owned car manufacturer Seres. While Seres manufactures the vehicles, Huawei provides software, sensors, electric motors, and HarmonyOS-based infotainment systems. In China, these vehicles are sold through Huawei’s retail stores alongside phones and laptops.

The AiTO M5 is a mid-size SUV equipped with a 15.6-inch touchscreen and an 83 kWh battery, capable of covering up to 602 km on a single charge. Its EREV version also features a 1.5-liter engine serving as a generator. Prices range from approximately €27,500 to €29,890.

The larger AiTO M8 SUV is available in five- or six-seat configurations and includes three displays along with a 68-inch AR head-up display. Its battery range reaches up to 705 km, with pricing between €43,060 and €53,830.

The flagship AiTO M9 boasts four LiDAR sensors and a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system, paired with a 100 kWh battery. Prices for the M9 range from €56,222 to €68,190.

Sales data from the first seven months of 2025 show 70,025 units sold, highlighting strong demand. The coming months will reveal how competitive these models can become in the European market.
