Advanced Land Management Course Launched for Field Officials
An advanced land management course has commenced at the Land Administration Training Center in the capital, with participation from field-level officials. Around 75 officials from various districts across the country are taking part in the five-day training workshop.
The training programme was inaugurated on Sunday morning, 29 March, by Land Minister Md. Mizanur Rahman Minu. In his speech as the chief guest, the minister urged officials to work diligently to meet public expectations.
It is noted that through the Ministry of Land’s website and app, citizens can access services from home using their mobile number and NID, including online mutation (e-Mutation), collection of Khatiyan/Porcha, payment of land development tax, and obtaining mouza maps. Through the ‘Bhumi Sheba’ app, citizens are also receiving various services such as applying for mutation, paying DCR fees, and verifying Khatiyan. While this system has reduced harassment and increased transparency, many citizens are still not connected to these services.
At the inauguration of the training workshop, Minister Md. Mizanur Rahman Minu emphasized the need for officials to actively bring these citizens under the service framework. He noted that people frequently visit land offices with numerous problems, and relevant authorities must come forward promptly with legal solutions. He added that there are many laws related to land issues that field-level officials must master, and there is no alternative to proper training in this regard.
Extending his sincere greetings to all participants, the minister said that everyone must remain focused on implementing the directives of the current democratic government to move beloved Bangladesh forward in the coming days. He reiterated that the government consistently emphasizes delivering land services to people in a transparent and efficient manner.
Mizanur Rahman Minu further stated that no actions should be taken that could tarnish the reputation of field-level officials across the country due to the misconduct of a single individual. He warned that any wrongdoing—intentional or unintentional—by field officials ultimately reflects on the government, as they operate under its authority. Therefore, all concerned must remain vigilant in this regard.
The event, chaired by Abul Khayer, Director of the Land Administration Training Center under the Ministry of Land, was also addressed by Land Reform Board Chairman AJM Salahuddin Nagari, Additional Secretary (Law) of the Ministry of Land Abdur Rouf, and Additional Secretary Nasrin Jahan.
