Police Pushes Digital Drive: Full Online GD Service Launched in Sylhet Range

Bangladesh Police has officially launched a full-scale online General Diary (GD) service across all police stations under the Sylhet Range, expanding beyond previous provisions limited to lost-and-found cases.

As part of the government's digital transformation initiative to make police services more accessible, the launch aligns with the directives of the Chief Adviser to simplify and modernize policing. Alongside Sylhet Metropolitan Police, Chattogram Metropolitan Police, and all stations under the Chattogram Range have also been brought under this online GD system.

Effective from Sunday, June 1, citizens within the Sylhet Range can now file any type of GD online without physically visiting police stations. According to Bangladesh Police’s Assistant Inspector General (Media and PR) Enamul Haque Sagar, "This service will gradually be extended to other ranges and metropolitan areas in phases."

He added, “To access the online GD service, users can download the ‘Online GD’ app from the Google Play Store and register. Only one-time registration is needed. If users face any difficulties in registration or filing a GD, they are encouraged to call the hotline at 01320001428, which is available 24/7.”
