Kazi Anwar Hossain Assumes Office as ICT Division Secretary

Kazi Anwar Hossain has formally assumed office as the newly appointed Secretary of the Information and Communication Technology Division. On Sunday, 29 March, the first working day after the Eid holidays, he took charge at the ICT Tower in Agargaon. Senior officials welcomed him on the occasion. He later held a meeting with top officials following the assumption of office.

According to ministry sources, after taking charge, the new Secretary expressed his commitment to making the division’s activities more dynamic, modern, and people-oriented. He also sought the cooperation of all concerned in discharging his new responsibilities, drawing on his extensive administrative experience.

Earlier, Kazi Anwar Hossain was appointed as Secretary through a notification issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on 25 March, following his transfer from the post of Additional Secretary of the Local Government Division. Prior to this, he served as the Director General of the National Institute of Local Government (NILG). He is an officer of the 11th batch of the BCS (Administration) cadre. He has pursued higher education at the University of Dhaka as well as at various reputed institutions at home and abroad.

During different phases of his career, Kazi Anwar Hossain served in key positions both in field administration and in the Secretariat. He also held significant responsibilities at the district level as Deputy Commissioner (DC) and at the divisional level. With this promotion to the position of Secretary, he has succeeded outgoing Secretary Shish Haidar Chowdhury.
