Meta, the parent company of Facebook, has introduced a special income-generating program titled “Creator Fast Track” to create new earning opportunities for digital creators. Amid strong competition from YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, and TikTok, the initiative aims to position Facebook as a more lucrative platform. Under this program, content creators who meet specific criteria can earn up to $3,000 per month.

In a press note issued on 18 March, Meta announced that selected creators would receive guaranteed earnings for three months by sharing eligible Reels on Facebook. According to the announcement, creators with at least 100,000 followers on Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube can earn up to $1,000 per month, while those with more than 1 million followers can earn up to $3,000 monthly. Participants will be able to use Facebook’s content monetization tools from the outset and may continue earning from eligible posts even after the three-month period.

Currently, the program is invitation-only. However, interested creators can apply through the Professional Dashboard on the Facebook mobile app.

Meta also revealed that it distributed approximately $3 billion among Facebook creators in 2025, marking a 35% increase compared to the previous year and representing its highest annual payout to date. Data indicates that earnings are not limited to video content; creators can also generate income from Reels, Stories, photos, and text posts. However, short-form videos have proven to be the most profitable, accounting for nearly 60% of total payouts in 2025, with the remainder coming from Stories and static posts.

To help creators better understand their income sources, Facebook is introducing new metrics within its monetization system, including qualified views, earning rate, and non-qualified views. These tools will enable creators to identify which views generate revenue and which do not qualify for monetization.

Many analysts view Meta’s initiative as a strategic move to strengthen Facebook’s creator ecosystem and compete more effectively with platforms like TikTok and YouTube. According to Forbes, despite Facebook’s vast user base, many popular creators have prioritized TikTok and YouTube. The Creator Fast Track program seeks to address this by offering direct financial incentives, with guaranteed earnings expected to encourage more creators to share content on Facebook.

Meanwhile, The Next Web notes that Facebook’s relationship with creators has historically been complex. Some experts question whether earnings will remain sustainable after the initial incentives expire, especially as TikTok and YouTube already offer robust monetization frameworks. Although income is possible from Stories, photos, and text posts, the primary focus remains on video content. Therefore, to remain competitive in the long term, Facebook will need to continuously enhance its incentives and tools.

Many observers describe Meta’s initiative as a “cash for content” strategy. While it may attract creators in the short term, analysts believe that Facebook must demonstrate the long-term sustainability of audience growth and monetization on its platform. Ultimately, beyond financial incentives, building lasting trust with creators will be the key challenge for success.
