Service Pledge: Minister Mahbub Anam Vows Relief from Extortion, Terror

Minister of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, and Science and Technology, Fakir Mahbub Anam, has said that the government aims to keep people free from suffering. “We want to ensure a society free from terrorism, extortion, land grabbing, and arbitrary arbitration. Serving the people is our sole objective, and we are making our utmost efforts to achieve that goal,” he stated.

The minister made these remarks as the chief guest at a reunion of former students of Ambariya High School in Madhupur Upazila of Tangail on Sunday, March 22, at noon.

Mahbub Anam said that the commitments made in the election manifesto for public welfare have begun to be implemented gradually under the leadership of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman. He noted that initiatives such as family cards, canal excavation programmes, and free internet services at various airports, railway stations, and trains across the country have already been introduced. He added that within one month of forming the government, the implementation of BNP’s 31-point programme has commenced. On April 14, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will inaugurate the farmer card distribution programme from Tangail.

The minister further stated that Ambariya High School had been deprived for the past 17 years. He assured that local issues, including the institution’s building and a deteriorated bridge, would be resolved on a priority basis.

Among others present at the event were Madhupur Upazila BNP President Md. Zakir Hossain Sarkar, Senior Vice President M Ratan Haider, General Secretary Md. Nasir Uddin, Municipal BNP General Secretary Khandakar Motalib Hossain, Convener of the Reunion Celebration Committee Nurunnabi Shihab, and Head Teacher of Ambariya High School Abdul Mannan.
