10 Women Honoured with ATJFB Aviatour Women’s Icon Award 2026
Aviation and Tourism Journalists Forum of Bangladesh has honoured 10 women for their significant contributions to Bangladesh’s aviation and tourism sectors.
Among the recipients of the ATJFB Aviatour Women’s Icon Award–2026 were First Officer Sajidina Sultana Soni of Air Astra in the Pilot category; Head of Cabin Service Farzana Yasmin of Novoair in the Cabin Crew category; Senior Executive (Sales and Marketing) Farhana Yasmin of US-Bangla Airlines in the Sales and Marketing category; Assistant Manager (Customer Service) Mousumi Akter of US-Bangla Airlines in the Customer Service category; Group Chairman Barrister Mehnaz Mannan of Bengal Airlift Limited in the Aviation Entrepreneur category; Manager (Cabin Service) Mukta Wahid of US-Bangla Airlines in the Instructor category; and General Manager (Public Relations) Bosra Islam of Biman Bangladesh Airlines in the Public Relations category.
In addition, Sumaiya Tahmim Bushra, a guide of Riverain Tours, received the award in the Tour Guide category; Chef Aqsa Iqbal of The Westin Dhaka in the Culinary Tourism category; and Farhana Rahman, proprietor of Royal Arsalan’s, in the Hospitality Entrepreneur category.
State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism M Rashiduzzaman Millat handed over the awards to the winners on Saturday, 14 March, at the All Community Club auditorium in the capital.
Speaking as the chief guest, he said that women are now playing important roles across the aviation, tourism, and hospitality sectors as pilots, air traffic controllers, aviation engineers, cabin crew, airport managers, hotel managers, and tourism entrepreneurs. He noted that the success of those receiving the awards would inspire the next generation.
Also speaking at the event were ATJFB President Tanzim Anwar and General Secretary Baten Biplob.
Among those present were Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh Air Vice Marshal Md. Mostafa Mahmud Siddiq, Managing Director of Novoair Mofizur Rahman, Managing Director of Rhythm Group and General Sales Agent of Ethiopian Airlines in Bangladesh Sohag Hossain, Chief Executive Officer of the Bangladesh Tourism Board Nuzhat Yasmin, and former CAAB Chairman Air Vice Marshal Md. Mofidur Rahman, along with other stakeholders from the aviation and tourism sectors.
Ethiopian Airlines served as the associate sponsor of this year’s Icon Award. Following the award ceremony, an iftar gathering was held in honour of ATJFB members, the award-winning women, and individuals associated with the aviation and tourism sectors.
