After a long hiatus, the hall room of the Krishibid Institution Bangladesh at Khamarbari in the capital turned into a gathering place for the country’s e-commerce entrepreneurs under the leadership of an administrator.

The e-Commerce Association of Bangladesh (e-CAB) held its Iftar gathering for 2026 there on Thursday (12 March). More than 400 e-CAB members and invited guests attended the event.

The formal proceedings of the gathering began at 4:00 pm with registration. At the outset, e-CAB Administrator and Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce Dr. Saif Uddin Ahmed delivered the welcome speech.

At the beginning of his remarks, he respectfully recalled all members associated with e-CAB since its inception. He also sought the cooperation of all members to initiate the election process of the association as soon as possible.

He said that he sincerely thanked all respected e-CAB members, entrepreneurs, and stakeholders for attending the e-CAB Iftar Mahfil 2026 organized on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan and for making the event successful and meaningful. He noted that their valuable time, sincere participation, and positive attitude toward the e-commerce sector had made the gathering more vibrant and significant. He expressed hope that the spirit of unity and cooperation within e-CAB would grow even stronger in the future.

The administrator also informed that due to the ongoing session of the National Parliament, the chief guest—Adviser to the Prime Minister for the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, the Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment, and the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Mahdi Amin—could not attend the event.

However, special guest Member of Parliament from Narsingdi-5, Engineer Md. Ashraf Uddin (Bakul), joined the program and in his speech expressed hope that e-commerce services would expand to the grassroots level.

Former administrator Saeed Ali, who also attended the iftar, said he felt delighted to participate in the gathering organized by the e-CAB family. He observed that a renewed sense of confidence and tolerance was evident among everyone. He described the arrangement as very well organized and lively, expressing hope that new leadership for e-CAB would emerge soon.

At the final stage of the formal proceedings, crests were presented to the representatives of sponsors in recognition of their support. The title sponsor of the iftar was Walton Group, while Care Business served as the platinum sponsor. Gold sponsors included Life Plus Bangladesh and Sukher Khamar, while silver sponsors were Songsar Selai, Bikroy Bazar, and Even City. Members of the support committee were also present at the time.

Just before iftar, the prayer and munajat were conducted by e-CAB member Anisur Rahman Sohel. The event was hosted by Hosne Ara Nuri Nowreen.
