On the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, one of the country’s leading mobile phone operators, Robi Axiata Limited, has distributed iftar among underprivileged people under its campaign titled ‘Chhoto Ekta Kaje Hazar O Ichchhepuron’ (Fulfilment of Thousands of Wishes Through a Small Act). Moving away from conventional emotion-driven advertising campaigns, the company has this year placed emphasis on a practical social initiative.

As part of the campaign, iftar was distributed among underprivileged people in the capital’s Kamalapur and Sadarghat areas, it was announced on Sunday, 1 March. Robi’s Chief People Officer, Shoaeb Beg, along with other company officials, was present during the distribution of iftar.

To implement this initiative, Robi worked jointly with the humanitarian organization Bhalo Kajer Hotel. Known for providing meals to disadvantaged people in exchange for good deeds, the organization’s involvement enabled the iftar distribution program to be carried out on a broader scale.

Robi’s Chief Commercial Officer, Shihab Ahmad, said that like every year, there had initially been a plan to produce an emotional advertisement for Ramadan. However, the company later decided to focus on undertaking practical initiatives for society through small but meaningful actions.

Meanwhile, Md. Sakib Hasan, a founding member of Bhalo Kajer Hotel, said their initiative began by collecting just 10 taka at a time. He noted that even small efforts can bring significant change to society, and with Robi’s support, that effort has now expanded further.

The core message of the ‘Chhoto Ekta Kaje Hazar O Ichchhepuron’ campaign is that a small initiative can inspire many people and pave the way for positive change in society.
