On the occasion of Great Martyrs’ Day and International Mother Language Day, members of the central committee of the Nationalist ICT Forum paid tribute at the graves of martyred President Ziaur Rahman and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia. On the occasion, they expressed deep respect by placing floral wreaths.
Subsequently, a special prayer and recitation of Surah Al-Fatiha were held seeking forgiveness for the souls of Shaheed Zia and Begum Khaleda Zia.
On Friday morning, 21 February, marking Great Martyrs’ Day and International Mother Language Day, wreaths were placed at the Central Shaheed Minar on behalf of the forum to pay tribute to all language movement activists and martyrs. Under the leadership of Forum President Engineer Rafel Kabir and General Secretary Rowshan Kamal James, leaders from various levels of the organization participated in the tribute ceremony. Secretary of the ICT Division Shish Haider Chowdhury was also present at the event.
Following the formation of the “Nationalist ICT Forum” by nationalist professionals and entrepreneurs working in the telecommunications and information and communication technology (ICT) sector, this was the first formal tribute paid to its founding and ideological leadership.
Earlier on the same day, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of A K M Wahiduzzaman, Chief Adviser of the Forum and Information and Technology Affairs Secretary of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party. The meeting was conducted by Engineer Rafel Kabir, President of the Nationalist ICT Forum.
Important decisions were taken at the meeting regarding the organizational structure of the forum, its action plan, and future programs. Those present at the grave-side tribute included Forum President Engineer Rafel Kabir, General Secretary Rowshan Kamal James, Adviser Faisal Alim, members of the editorial panel, and other members of the central committee.
Forum President Engineer Rafel Kabir said, “Martyred President Ziaur Rahman laid the foundation for Bangladesh’s post-independence reconstruction, the establishment of multi-party democracy, and the building of a technology-driven modern state. That foundation remains a source of inspiration for us today. It is by upholding his ideals that we have united to organize nationalist forces in the ICT sector.”
General Secretary Rowshan Kamal James said, “To take the domestic technology sector to a self-reliant and world-class level, it is essential to combine ideological leadership, skilled human resources, and innovative initiatives. The Nationalist ICT Forum will work toward that goal. We are committed to strengthening and organizing the technology sector in order to implement the ideals of Shaheed Zia and Deshnetri Begum Khaleda Zia.”
Through this tribute program, the Nationalist ICT Forum reaffirmed its ideological commitment and expressed its determination to play an organized and effective role in the technology sector.
