'Dog-like Robot' Spotted on CCTV in Kurigram
A mysterious, dog-like robotic object has caused a stir in the border area of Bhurungamari, Kurigram. The strange scene was captured on CCTV footage from the ‘Alauddin Hardware’ shop, located in Milni Bazar, Baldiya Union, approximately two kilometres inside the Indian border, at 3:35 AM on Monday, 16th February.
The shop owner, Roknuzzaman, and his brother, Nazmul Hossain, noticed the incident around 9:30 PM on Tuesday, 17th February, while reviewing the footage in connection with a possible theft.
The footage, recorded by a CCTV camera installed at the hardware shop in Milni Bazar near the border, captured the scene. After the CCTV footage was shared on social media, it sparked curiosity in the border area.
Kuddus Mia from the Kedar border area of Baldiya Union, Bhurungamari Upazila, Kurigram, said the matter was suspicious. Milni Bazar is some distance from the border area, so how an Indian robot arrived there is a matter for concern.
Many believe the matter should be investigated.
Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Mahbub Ul Haq, commander of Kurigram 22 BGB, said that the CCTV footage is being examined. They will confirm whether it was created using AI or is an Indian robot before providing further information.
