Nearly 1.15 Million Postal Ballots Reach Returning Officers

Expatriate Bangladeshis and domestic voters have taken part in the voting process through the mobile application ‘Postal Vote BD.’ According to the Election Commission (EC), as of Thursday, February 12, by noon, a total of 1,143,845 postal ballots had reached the Returning Officers.

Based on data received by the Election Commission, a total of 766,862 ballots were delivered to designated destination countries. Among expatriate voters, 554,258 ballots were collected, and 543,751 voters completed the voting process. Of them, 537,554 voters submitted their ballots to the respective country’s post offices or mailboxes. So far, 498,266 ballots have arrived in Bangladesh, and 495,551 ballots have been officially received by the Returning Officers.

Participation among domestic postal voters has also been significant. Through BD Post, 760,898 ballots were sent to voters within the country.

Voters collected 681,819 ballots, and 674,376 individuals completed the voting process. A total of 669,950 ballots were submitted to post offices, and to date, Returning Officers have received 648,294 ballots.

The Election Commission continues to monitor the flow and receipt of postal ballots to ensure a smooth and transparent electoral process.
