Following the issuance of new regulations and the gazette notification of the revised Detailed Area Plan (DAP), software systems are being restructured in line with the updated rules, a process that is currently underway. Once the update work is completed, design approval activities will resume. RAJUK Chairman Engineer Md. Riaz-ul-Islam has assured that this process will be completed before February 1.

He gave the assurance on January 19, during a meeting with leaders of the Real Estate and Housing Association of Bangladesh (REHAB).

According to sources, the meeting focused on the capital’s development planning, overall progress in the housing sector, and further simplification of civic services. During the discussion, REHAB leaders urged RAJUK to expedite design approvals under the new DAP.

In response, the RAJUK chairman assured that procedures related to mutation (namjari) and easement deeds would be simplified and that efforts would be taken to reduce public harassment. He said digital services would be made more dynamic to ease sufferings of service seekers and ensure greater transparency. As part of these efforts, RAJUK’s server will be fully operational by February 1 once the software update is completed.

REHAB Senior Vice President Liaquat Ali Bhuiyan, Vice President Engineer Abdul Latif, and other association leaders were present at the meeting.

Earlier, on July 15, REHAB leaders had also met RAJUK Chairman Engineer Md. Riaz-ul-Islam and strongly demanded the swift restoration of the RAJUK server.

It may be mentioned that RAJUK’s server has remained inactive for a long time due to technical issues. As a result, services such as land clearance certificates and occupancy certificates have been halted, and no building plans are being approved. This prolonged disruption has caused serious difficulties for landowners, developers, and other service seekers.
