E-Ticketing Introduced at Sixty Dome Mosque Complex, Bagerhat Museum

The Department of Archaeology has launched an e-ticketing service at the historic Sixty Dome Mosque complex and the Bagerhat Museum. The service, operated through a2i’s MyGov platform, was formally inaugurated on Friday afternoon, January 16, by Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb, Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser for the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology.

To mark the inauguration, Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb purchased a ticket online using his mobile phone and entered the site by scanning a QR code, officially opening the service for visitors.

With the launch of e-ticketing, visitors will no longer need to stand in long queues to buy tickets, making the entry process faster, easier and more convenient.

Speaking as the chief guest at the inauguration ceremony, Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb said the initiative would further advance citizen-friendly digital services while enhancing transparency and accountability in revenue management. He described the move as a practical and visible step forward in building a “New Bangladesh.”

Following the inauguration, he toured various architectural features of the historic Sixty Dome Mosque and also visited the Bagerhat Museum.

Among others present at the event were Director General of the Department of Archaeology Sabina Alam; a2i Project Director (Joint Secretary) Md Abdus Rafiq; Bagerhat Deputy Commissioner Golam Md Baten; Superintendent of Police Mohammad Hasan Chowdhury, BPM; a2i Head of Project Management Abdullah Al Fahim; Senior Consultant and Deputy Secretary Fazlul Zahid Pavel; Chief Technology Adviser Masudur Rahman; and other senior officials.

It is worth noting that after the MyGov e-ticketing service was launched at Lalbagh Fort on June 30, 2025, more than 300,000 visitors toured the site over the past six months, generating approximately Tk 11 million in government revenue. The Department of Archaeology is currently working to gradually bring 28 more tourist and historical sites under the MyGov e-ticketing platform.
