Extra Metro Services for DU Science Unit Admission Test
To ensure smooth transportation for examinees, authorities have decided to operate additional metro rail services on Saturday, December 27, during the Dhaka University (DU) Science Unit admission test for the 2025–26 academic year.
The university’s public relations office said on Friday, December 26, that the first-year undergraduate admission test for the Science Unit will be held from 3:30pm to 5:00pm. Special measures have also been taken to address logistical challenges arising from the Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) admission test being held on the same day.
According to the authorities, initiatives include changing test centers for MIST candidates, setting up additional exam venues, and operating extra metro rail services to facilitate hassle-free travel for students.
This year, a total of 114,114 applicants will compete for 1,891 seats in the DU Science Unit. The admission test will be conducted at Dhaka University as well as at public universities in seven divisional cities outside Dhaka. These centers include Rajshahi University, Chittagong University, Barishal University, Khulna University, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology in Sylhet, Bangladesh Agricultural University in Mymensingh, and Begum Rokeya University in Rangpur.
For candidates who are appearing in the MIST admission test and have shifted their DU Science Unit test centers to Dhaka, several facilitative measures have been introduced. Three additional exam centers have already been arranged in the Mirpur and Farmgate areas. To ensure safe and convenient travel from MIST, the interval between metro trains has been reduced, and extra metro services will operate throughout the day for students.
Meanwhile, at the request of Dhaka University, the MIST authorities have rescheduled the second-phase examination of the Architecture Department. The test, originally scheduled for December 27 from 3:00pm to 5:00pm, will now be held on December 28 at the same time.
