Amid rapid changes in the browser market, Mozilla has appointed Anthony Nzur-Dimio as its new CEO. Upon taking charge, he announced that artificial intelligence (AI) features will be integrated into Firefox, but they will remain optional for users.

Currently, mainstream browsers like Google Chrome, Apple Safari, and Firefox are facing new challenges. Companies such as Perplexity, Arc, OpenAI, and Opera are offering AI-powered experiences directly within browsers. To remain competitive, Mozilla has decided to increase its investment in AI.

In recent years, Mozilla has navigated layoffs and organizational restructuring. Nevertheless, the company is planning to expand beyond search-dependent revenue streams and aims to position Firefox as part of a broader, trusted software ecosystem. Under Nzur-Dimio’s leadership, Mozilla hopes to regain momentum and reinforce its presence in the evolving browser landscape.
