Meta, the global social media giant, has acquired Limitless to further strengthen its capabilities in developing AI-enhanced wearable devices. Limitless is known for creating a pendant-style AI gadget capable of recording and transcribing conversations. The information was confirmed on Friday in a blog post by Dan Siroker, co-founder and CEO of Limitless, according to a Reuters report.

According to Siroker, Meta’s vision of making “personal superintelligence” accessible to everyone aligns closely with Limitless’s mission. For this reason, both companies will now work together to realize this shared vision. However, the financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

The acquisition comes in the same week Meta hired Apple’s longtime design executive Alan Dye—highlighting Meta’s growing focus on developing next-generation wearable devices. Limitless’s technology is expected to play a significant role in Meta’s future AI-wearables roadmap.

Meta is already collaborating with EssilorLuxottica Group’s Ray-Ban and Oakley brands to produce AI-powered smart glasses. The newly acquired Limitless produces a small “pendant” device that can be attached to clothing or lanyards, record speech, transcribe conversations into an app, and generate searchable summaries—functioning as an AI assistant for memory enhancement and productivity.

Limitless has announced that while support for existing customers will continue, sales of new devices are being halted. To ensure service continuity, current users must accept updated privacy terms. The company has raised more than USD 33 million in funding from investors including Sam Altman and a16z.
