Nestlé Hosts First-Ever Gut Health Science Workshop in Bangladesh

Nestlé Bangladesh has organised its first-ever two-day specialised workshop titled “The Gut Nexus: The Science of the Gut Microbiome.”

The event highlighted the latest scientific advancements in gut health and brought together more than 250 experts and researchers from various sectors across the country.

Internationally renowned speakers—Prof. Dr. Shaman Rajendram of Sri Lanka and Prof. Dr. Marc A. Benninga of the Netherlands—delivered in-depth discussions on gut health and functional gastrointestinal disorders.

Addressing the local context, icddr,b Professor Dr. Md. Iqbal Hossain explained the importance of gut-friendly foods in Bangladesh’s dietary habits.

Participants also visited scientific booths showcasing innovations in probiotics and synbiotics, where Nestlé reaffirmed its commitment to advancing gut health education, nutrition development, and scientific solutions.

Organised by the Nestlé Nutrition Institute, the workshop is being regarded as a significant step toward advancing scientific knowledge and nutritional integration for the wellbeing of future generations.
