15k govt. officials getting trained in Advanced Technology

The government will train 15 thousand government officials in advanced technology with the aim of creating skilled human resources suitable for smart Bangladesh. Out of this, 10,000 government officials will be trained in advanced technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT) and 5,000 officials will be trained in cyber security. A memorandum of understanding was signed between the Government Employees Management System (GEMS) and Bangladesh Computer Council's Enhancing Digital Government and Economy (EDGE) project under the ICT Division on Monday (26 December 2022) in the meeting room of the Ministry of Public Administration. EDGE project director Dr. Muhammad Mehdi Hasan and GEMS Program Director Md. Razzaq signed the memorandum of understanding on behalf of their respective institutions. GEMS program team leader Md. Abdul Manan, PAA and GEMS Sub-Program Director Mr. Md. Daulat Uzzaman Khan, EDGE Project Sub-Project Director Md. Saiful Alam Khan, Team Leader of Digital Leadership Academy Dr. Mahfuz Shamim were present in the event among others. In the event, the senior secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration, Mohammad Mezbahuddin Chowdhury, said that through the signing of this memorandum of understanding, the door of training of government officials in advanced technology was opened; The aim of which is to develop competent government officials suitable for the smart Bangladesh of 2041. Officials related to the project said that three important things will be achieved through the training of 15,000 government officials. First, government officials will become proficient in advanced technology; Secondly, government service delivery will be faster and thirdly, provision of security of government offices and uninterrupted delivery of government services will be possible.
