Tecno Takes the 5G Trend with Spark 40 Launch in Bangladesh
Following advancements in battery life, camera performance, and AI integration, the latest trend reshaping the mobile market is the rise of 5G technology. This shift began in September 2025 when Bangladesh officially launched commercial 5G services on a limited scale — a move that quickly sparked fierce competition among telecom operators and smartphone makers alike.
The race intensified when mobile operator Robi inaugurated its 5G network at its corporate headquarters in Dhaka, simultaneously expanding to Chattogram. Just an hour later, Grameenphone announced via Facebook Live that it had activated 5G services across all divisions. Since then, mobile manufacturers have been unveiling new 5G-enabled models one after another.
Joining this race, global smartphone brand Tecno has introduced the ‘Spark 40 5G’ in Bangladesh — a device promising flagship-level performance at an affordable price. The company claims that the phone will deliver “a smooth and powerful 5G experience for at least five years,” made possible through intelligent system customization.
Promoting the model as “the most affordable 5G handset in the market,” Tecno stated, “Compared to other devices in the same price range, the Tecno Spark 40 5G offers superior strength and performance. It features next-generation 5G connectivity, a 120Hz vibrant display for smoother visuals, and a massive 6000mAh battery ideal for all-day use. Its outstanding camera system ensures crisp and vivid images. Priced at only Tk 16,999 (VAT applicable), this phone elevates the experience for budget-segment smartphone users to a new level.”
According to the distributor’s official specification sheet, the Spark 40 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 5G+ processor, featuring a 6.75-inch HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The device includes a 50MP Ultra-Clear FlashSnap main camera with dual flash, a 6000mAh battery with 18W fast charging, and 128GB internal storage paired with 8GB RAM (4GB extended).
With these specs and pricing, Tecno aims to position the Spark 40 5G as a game-changer in Bangladesh’s emerging 5G smartphone segment.
