HSC (Vocational) Results Reveal Remarkable Reduction in Pass Rate

The results of the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations have been published, showing a significant decline in the overall pass rate this year. Across the country’s 11 education boards—including nine general boards, one technical, and one madrasa board—the average pass rate stands at 58.83 percent. Last year (2024), the pass rate was 77.78 percent, marking a sharp decrease of 18.95 percentage points.

Under the Bangladesh Technical Education Board, the average pass rate in this year’s HSC (Vocational/BM/Diploma in Commerce) examination stands at 62.67 percent nationwide, with 1,610 students achieving a GPA-5. Notably, female students have outperformed their male counterparts.

Out of 105,610 examinees, 66,185 students passed, among whom 74.30 percent of GPA-5 achievers are female.

The results were released simultaneously by all education boards at 10:00 am on Thursday, 16 October. Following the announcement, students have been able to access their results through their respective institutions, education board websites, and via SMS.

According to the official statistics, the HSC examinations under the Technical Education Board were held across 733 centers in 1,835 institutions nationwide.
