Google Meet Glitch Gets Fixed After Daylong Disruption

Alphabet-owned Google announced on Monday that issues affecting its video communication service, Google Meet, have been resolved after thousands of users across the United States experienced disruptions throughout the day, Reuters reported.

According to the company, “Users had encountered problems with slow interface loading and difficulty joining Meet sessions. An initial analysis indicated that a recent content edge cache change was the root cause of the issue. The problem was resolved after the change was rolled back.”

Tracking platform Downdetector reported that during the peak of the outage, around 16,400 incidents were logged, though the figure later dropped to roughly 600. However, the actual number of affected users is believed to have been significantly higher.
