The digital token $WLFI, launched under the Trump family’s cryptocurrency venture World Liberty Financial, fell in price on its first day of trading. According to Reuters, the token initially rose above $0.30 on Monday but later slipped to $0.246, marking a decline of nearly 12 percent.

Data from CoinGecko shows that at this price, the token’s market capitalization stood below $7 billion, placing it as the 31st largest cryptocurrency in circulation. Major exchanges, including Binance, OKX, and Bybit, have begun listing the token.

Critics have raised concerns over a potential conflict of interest between the Trump family’s crypto business and their political influence. However, the White House stated, “Trump’s assets are placed in a trust under the supervision of his children, and there is no conflict of interest.”
