BTRC Brings Broad Bureaucratic Breakthrough

After six officials were made OSD, the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) has issued an order reshuffling the responsibilities of 18 officials in a single day. It has been announced that their existing posts will be vacated with immediate effect, effective from September 10.
According to the order, Director of the SM Division, Begum Sajeda Parveen, has been transferred to the Finance, Accounts, and Revenue Division, while Dr. Md. Sohel Rana has been reassigned to the Engineering and Operation (E&O) Division. In addition, E&O Director Md. Nurunnabi has been moved to the Spectrum Division.
Meanwhile, Deputy Directors (E&O) Sabina Islam and Nafisa Mallik have been posted to the Legal and Licensing Division. Similarly, E&O Deputy Director Sanjib Kumar Singh has been transferred to the Enforcement and Inspection Division. Assistant Director Md. Kausar Ahmed from the Finance, Accounts, and Revenue Division and Sub-Assistant Director Md. Aminul Islam from the SS Division have been placed in the Administrative Division.
Furthermore, SS Division Deputy Director Md. Mahfuzul Alam and Assistant Director Moinul Haque have been assigned to the Engineering and Operation Division. SS Division Sub-Assistant Director Md. Kamal Siddiqui and E&O Sub-Assistant Director Md. Raihan Kabir have been reassigned to the Spectrum Division.
On the other hand, Administrative Officer Z. A. Russell has been transferred to the System and Service Division, along with SM Division Sub-Assistant Directors Rezaul Sabir and Md. Sohel.
The reshuffle was confirmed through an official order signed by Mohammad Ashraful Alam, Deputy Director of BTRC’s Administration Branch, on Wednesday, October 28.
According to sources, “this reshuffle has been undertaken to facilitate an internal reform drive and overcome organizational stagnation within the Commission.”
