An important Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the Online Editors Alliance and the Bangladesh-China Apon Media Club, aimed at strengthening media collaboration and technological exchange between the two countries. The signing ceremony took place on Tuesday, July 29, at the Dhaka office of CMG Bangla.

The MoU was signed by Hasan Sharif, President of the Online Editors Alliance, and Olivia Chu, representative of the Bangladesh-China Apon Media Club, on behalf of their respective organizations. Journalists working with CMG's Bangla division and executive members of the Online Editors Alliance were also present at the occasion.

Welcoming all members of the alliance, Yu Kuang Yue, Director of CMG Bangla, stated, “In today’s digital age, online journalism carries immense significance. This MoU will serve to further strengthen the ties between China and Bangladesh. Through this collaboration, we aim to facilitate the exchange of knowledge in journalism and technology.”

Hasan Sharif remarked, “This agreement will be mutually beneficial for both parties. Particularly, there are great opportunities to collaborate on issues related to China’s tourism, healthcare, and education sectors. I wholeheartedly welcome this initiative.”

During the open discussion session, the alliance's Organizational Secretary, Palash Mahmud, added, “There is so much to learn about China. There’s even potential to work exclusively on China-related content. With a wealth of available materials, we can explore various collaborative projects.” He further expressed hope, saying, “In the days ahead, we wish to walk together along the path of technology and development.”

Participants at the event also discussed how both organizations could work more closely on initiatives such as journalist exchange programs, training workshops, and best reporting awards. Stakeholders believe this partnership will significantly enhance the use of modern technology in journalism and deepen mutual cooperation between Bangladeshi and Chinese media professionals.
