‘Utsob’ Set for Streaming on Chorki from August 7 Midnight

The star-studded family drama Utsob, which was released theatrically during the last Eid-ul-Adha, is now set for its OTT premiere. The film will be available for streaming on the popular platform Chorki from 12:01 AM on August 7, allowing audiences in Bangladesh and abroad to enjoy it from the comfort of their homes. The film was originally released with the tagline “Not to be watched without family,” and now its digital release carries that same spirit.

Director Tanim Noor shared his reflections on the film’s release, stating, “Watching plays on television or movies in theatres with the whole family used to be a norm during my childhood. With ‘Utsob,’ I took up the challenge of bringing that family audience back to theatres. Whether I succeeded or not is for the viewers to decide, but some of their reactions have deeply moved me and inspired me to keep going.”

Speaking about the Chorki release, he added, “OTT release is now a new distribution channel for cinema. People around the world watch films through this medium. For Bengali-speaking audiences, Chorki has become a trusted platform for content. The release of ‘Utsob’ here is a matter of great joy. It will allow audiences in areas without cinema halls and viewers abroad to enjoy the film. I hope that just like in my childhood—when we used to watch dramas and films with the family at home—viewers will now watch ‘Utsob’ together on Chorki.”

Utsob features a stellar ensemble cast including Zahid Hasan, Jaya Ahsan, Aupee Karim, Chanchal Chowdhury, Afsana Mimi, Tariq Anam Khan, Azad Abul Kalam, Intekhab Dinar, Sunerah Binte Kamal, Soumya Jyoti, and Sadia Ayman, among others.

The story of the film was co-written by Tanim Noor, Ayman Asib Shadhin, Sushmoy Sarkar, and Samiul Bhuiyan. The screenplay and dialogues were written by Ayman Asib Shadhin and Samiul Bhuiyan, with Rashed Zaman serving as the Director of Photography.
