BPO Summit 2025 Set to Spotlight AI and Freelancing Future

The sixth edition of the BPO Summit is set to commence on June 21 at the Senaprangon in Mirpur, Dhaka. This year’s national summit, hosted by the Bangladesh Association of Contact Center & Outsourcing (BACCO), places significant emphasis on strengthening Bangladesh's position in artificial intelligence and aligning the country’s remittance earners with the global digital transformation. The event will also mark the debut of the BACCO Freelancer Forum (BFF).

According to organizers, the two-day summit will include nine sessions featuring keynote presentations by industry experts. Although Alibaba founder Jack Ma will not be attending due to scheduling conflicts, he is expected to send a video message expressing his support.

The summit will be inaugurated by industrial advisor Adilur Rahman, with special guests including Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb, Special Assistant to the Chief Advisor of the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology; ICT Secretary Shish Haider Chowdhury; BTRC Chairman Emdadul Bari; Director General of the Department of Information and Communication Technology Mohammad Anwar Uddin; and BACCO General Secretary Faisal Aleem. BACCO President Tanvir Ibrahim will chair the inaugural session.

"The summit will remain open to all," said Tanvir Ibrahim. "Beyond the discussions and workshops, this year’s summit will introduce an Innovation Zone featuring live demonstrations of locally developed drones, submarines, and robots. Visitors will have the chance to explore these groundbreaking innovations firsthand."

Highlighting the presence of top freelancers, the summit will include a special session with Mir Snigdh, the twin brother of the late Martyr Mir Mugdho and a top-rated freelancer on Fiverr. Registration for this session has already begun.

"This summit will open the door to embracing global potential in freelancing, outsourcing, and innovation," Tanvir added.

The summit will also provide significant career opportunities for job seekers, particularly recent graduates. According to BACCO Secretariat sources, 100 candidates will receive on-spot industry attachments, with the possibility of expanding this to up to 1,000 jobs. Job seekers must submit their CVs and face interviews at the venue.

Members of BACCO’s executive committee shared that preparations for the venue are nearing completion. In addition to the co-hosting partners—including the ICT Division, BPC, and BTRC—30 domestic and international BPO companies will showcase their services. Local participants include Synergy Business Solutions, Brotix Technologies, SkyTech Global, Rocky Dialer, 24/7 Virtual Assistant, Akij Telecom, ASK Telecom, Ayesha Services, Ignite Tech Solution, WCB, ADN Telecom, Adonis Group, Techno, and Ko PC, among others.

Bangladesh Satellite Company Limited will set up an experience zone for satellite-based internet service Starlink, allowing visitors to enjoy high-speed wireless internet access.

Speaking on the final preparations, Summit Convener Musnad E Ahmed said, “We have extended invitations to BPO entrepreneurs, consultants, policymakers, and investors to discuss innovative service models that could lead to a transformation in the outsourcing sector. This summit will also highlight the challenges, opportunities, and success stories of freelancers, an integral part of the outsourcing industry. We expect participation from IT experts and investors from 15 countries.”

Musnad also revealed that a job circular has already been published on the BTO website, announcing the plan to offer jobs to 100 candidates, with the final number potentially exceeding 1,000.

In an effort to attract young talents, BACCO has launched campus activation programs at various universities. On June 18, a career counseling seminar was held at North South University, focusing on career prospects in the outsourcing industry. More than a hundred students attended the session, where Mrazina Islam, founder of the online marketplace Kaj360 and an ambassador for Payoneer, delivered a presentation on career development.

The seminar was addressed by Dr. A.K.M. Waresul Kabir, Dean of the School of Business and Economics at NSU; Dr. Khondoker Md. Mamun, Associate Professor of Marketing and International Business; along with BACCO Joint Secretary Musnad E Ahmed, Directors Abu Daud Khan, Abul Khayer, Zayed Uddin Ahmed, and Saima Shawkat.
