Campus Connectivity: Huawei and BracNet Drive Digital Education Forward

To promote digital transformation in Bangladesh’s education sector, Huawei and BracNet jointly organized a workshop titled “Campus NextGen: The Future of Digital Education”. Held at the Huawei Bangladesh Academy in Gulshan, Dhaka, the event showcased the latest innovations in educational technology, highlighted successful initiatives, and outlined Huawei’s future plans to support digital learning environments.
According to a press release issued by Huawei Bangladesh on Monday, June 2, the event was attended by 80 representatives from 30 public and private universities across the country.
The release noted that discussions during the workshop focused on how to build more connected, robust, and intelligent campuses by addressing key challenges such as limited internet accessibility, network layering complexities, operation and maintenance (O&M) burdens, and cybersecurity risks.
Huawei presented its high-quality 10 Gbps Smart Campus Network Solution along with Fiber to the Office (FTTO) and Data Center Storage (DCS) technologies. These solutions aim to provide simplified infrastructure, enhanced data protection, and high-speed, reliable internet connectivity, thereby improving campus network management and efficiency.
BracNet, Huawei’s strategic partner in the education sector, also presented its infrastructural capabilities at the event. In recognition of BracNet’s reliable partnership in advancing Bangladesh’s digital education landscape, Huawei honored the company during the program. BracNet CEO Syed P. F. Ahmed and General Manager and Head of Operations Mukarram Hussain accepted the accolade on behalf of the organization.
Speaking on the occasion, Ewing Karl, Deputy Managing Director and Head of Partner Development at Huawei’s South Asia Enterprise Business Group, stated, “We strongly believe that digital education plays a vital role in a country’s digital transformation. Through our Smart Campus technologies, Huawei is committed to advancing digital education in Bangladesh. Our goal is to support universities with high-quality digital infrastructure.”
BracNet CEO Syed P. F. Ahmed added, “BracNet has long been dedicated to advancing digital education in Bangladesh. Today, through the development of Smart Campuses, that mission is becoming a reality. Our commitment, coupled with Huawei’s support, has made this possible. Together, we are creating a smart future for students across Bangladesh by transforming classrooms into career-oriented learning spaces.”
Several universities, including Brac University, Southeast University, East West University, and the Bangladesh University of Textiles (BUTEX), are already implementing Huawei’s Smart Campus technologies. During the event, these institutions emphasized the effectiveness of the technologies in terms of connectivity, data security, and ICT enhancement.
