ISPB Election 2025 Underway Amid Festive Atmosphere

Despite initial concerns from administrators, the Internet Service Providers Association of Bangladesh (ISPAB) is conducting its Executive Committee Election for the 2025–2027 term in a festive and peaceful atmosphere.

The voting began on Saturday, May 17, at the Shaheed Abu Sayeed International Conference Centre on Mintu Road, Shahbagh, Dhaka. Voting is being held across 10 booths and will continue uninterrupted from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.

This year’s election features 924 registered voters across two categories. Although administrators have recently been appointed to various trade organizations across the country, ISPAB leaders have remained united in their commitment to elect new leadership through a democratic vote. Candidates have conducted campaigns across the country in anticipation of the election.

According to the Election Commission, 24 candidates are contesting for 13 director positions. In the general member category, 14 candidates are competing for 9 seats, while in the associate member category, 10 candidates are contesting for 4 positions.

A full nine-member panel titled “ISP United” has emerged in the general member category. The panel is being led by former ISPAB president and CEO of Amber IT Ltd, M. A. Hakim. New candidates on the ISP United panel include Neyamul Haque Khan (Chairman, Majeda Networks Ltd), Md. Mithu Hawlader (CTO, Invention Technologies Ltd), and Rashedur Rahman Rajon (Managing Director, One Sky Communications Ltd).

The panel has committed to ensuring fair rights for all ISPs in Bangladesh and has campaigned on promises including establishing divisional and district subcommittees, organizing international-standard exhibitions, and launching a dedicated service desk.

The ISP United panel appears to have broad support within the organization, with three former ISPAB presidents backing the panel.
