Free Wi-Fi Footprint Expands at Dhaka University

A new initiative titled ‘Bangladesh First’ has launched a free internet service at several key locations of Dhaka University, including the Campus Shadow area, Faculty of Arts, and Faculty of Business Studies. The service began on Tuesday, May 13, with stickers bearing barcodes installed across the area. Scanning the barcode allows over two hundred students to connect to the network simultaneously.
The free Wi-Fi service at Campus Shadow was inaugurated by Anisur Rahman Khandakar Anik, Vice President of the Dhaka University unit of Chhatra Dal. Also present at the event were Joint Secretary Md. Al Amin, former Social Welfare Secretary Sheikh Rasel, Mental Health Development Secretary Rakibul Hasan, Liberation War and Research Secretary Syed Imam Hasan Anik, Assistant Finance Secretary Mahfuzur Rahman, and Assistant Social Welfare Secretary Abrar Hamim Apon.
Additional attendees included Hedayetullah Abir, Rinvi Mosharraf, Monirul Islam Hiron, Hasanuzzaman Nadim, Noman Abdullah, Sadman Sakib, Eram, Touhid, Rizvi, and Milon from Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hall; Raihan Ahmed and Muntasir Sabir from Muktijoddha Ziaur Rahman Hall; Mohammad Mubin, Mohammad Al Amin, Taqi, and Sharif from Sir A.F. Rahman Hall; Antor Ahmed Ontu, Raihan Abedin, Sufi, and Shahid from Zahurul Haque Hall; and Muntasir Mahmud from Jasimuddin Hall, along with many other Chhatra Dal activists from various hall units.
Anik, who spearheaded the initiative, was the Chhatra Dal candidate for the General Secretary (GS) post in the 2019 DUCSU elections.
