Evaly Website Hacked: Hacker Threatens Data Leak, Demands Contact

The official website of prominent Bangladeshi e-commerce platform Evaly has reportedly been compromised by a hacker. While the product listings on the site remain visible, the homepage banner has been taken over and replaced with a threatening message in English, allegedly from an entity identifying themselves as “Proton.”

The message demands immediate contact from Evaly authorities via email and warns of leaking customer data if their demand is not met.

According to sources, users attempting to access the site on Friday, May 24, discovered the homepage displaying a message from the hacker group instead of the platform’s usual content. The altered banner signals a breach of Evaly’s website security.

So far, there has been no official statement identifying the individual or group responsible for the cyberattack. However, cybersecurity analysts suggest that the breach may have been orchestrated by a foreign actor. The message implies that the attack could also be the work of a lone hacker, not an organized group.

This incident follows previous cyberattacks on local e-commerce sites, once again highlighting the vulnerabilities of online platforms in Bangladesh. Experts are raising concerns over the inadequate cybersecurity infrastructure protecting user data in the country’s digital marketplace.
