After years of anticipation, Mozilla has finally introduced the much-requested Tab Groups feature to its Firefox browser, catching up with rivals Chrome, Safari, and Edge, which implemented similar capabilities as early as 2021. The announcement was made through a blog post, according to a report by Engadget.

Mozilla revealed that the decision came in response to requests from over 4,500 users. With the new update, Firefox users will now be able to organize tabs into groups, and assign names or colors to each group for easier identification and management.

Interestingly, Firefox has confirmed that “Tab Groups are entirely device-based and no information will be uploaded to the cloud,” ensuring user privacy.

Additionally, Mozilla is currently testing an AI-powered feature titled Smart Tab Groups, which will automatically categorize tabs and assign names based on content type and usage pattern.
