E-CAB Election Excitement: Voting Scheduled for May 31
The election for the Executive Committee members of the E-Commerce Association of Bangladesh (E-CAB) for the 2025–2027 term will be held on May 31. Out of the organization’s total 842 members, 502 have been confirmed as eligible voters this time.
According to the schedule, the submission and collection of nomination papers concluded on Sunday (April 27). Based on available information, 38 individuals purchased nomination forms for the position of director, while 36 candidates eventually submitted their nominations. Consequently, the organization has earned BDT 1.9 million from the nomination process. There are approximately 14 voters for each candidate.
The final list of valid candidates will be published on May 8. Candidates will have until May 15 to withdraw their candidacy, and the final list will be announced on May 18, after which the final lineup of candidates will be confirmed. It is anticipated that there will be three panels contesting in this election.
The Election Board is chaired by Tarafdar Sohel Rahman, Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce. Other board members include Deputy Secretaries Md. Hafiz-al-Asad and Shahadat Hossain.
