OpenAI Opposes Elon: Harassment Allegations Spark Legal Showdown

OpenAI has filed a countersuit against Elon Musk, accusing him of a pattern of harassment and seeking to bar him from engaging in any "unlawful and improper conduct." The legal action was filed in a federal court in California, according to a report by Reuters.
Musk co-founded OpenAI in 2015 alongside Sam Altman but later parted ways with the company. In 2023, he launched his own artificial intelligence venture, xAI. Musk has since voiced strong opposition to OpenAI's shift from a non-profit to a for-profit business model.
In the lawsuit, OpenAI alleges that Musk has been damaging the organization through “attacks on social media, false narratives, and improper proposals.” Musk has previously claimed that OpenAI turned down a $97.4 billion offer.
The trial is scheduled to begin in the spring of next year.
