TikTok Timeline Extended: Trump Grants 75-Day Delay on Ban

U.S. President Donald Trump has extended the deadline for a potential TikTok ban by an additional 75 days. In a post on Truth Social on Friday, Trump announced that he had signed an executive order to allow more time for reaching a final agreement. The report was published by TechCrunch.

“My administration is working hard to save TikTok, and there has been significant progress,” Trump wrote.

This marks the second extension of the ban deadline. Under legislation enacted during former President Joe Biden’s administration in January 2025, ByteDance was given a set timeline to sell TikTok’s U.S. operations. On the day of his inauguration, Trump had already extended that timeline by 75 days.

According to Bloomberg, Trump is reviewing a proposal from a group of U.S. investors led by Oracle, Blackstone, and Andreessen Horowitz. However, the deal will require approval from the Chinese government before it can be finalized.

Meanwhile, ByteDance has expressed reluctance to sell TikTok.
