OpenAI and Meta in Talks with Reliance for AI Expansion
OpenAI and Meta are engaged in separate discussions with India's Reliance Industries regarding the expansion of artificial intelligence (AI) technology, according to a report by technology news outlet The Information. Reuters also covered the development.
The report states that OpenAI and Reliance Jio have explored a potential partnership for the distribution of ChatGPT. Additionally, Reliance is considering an API-based agreement with OpenAI for the sale of AI models.
Reliance is constructing a massive three-gigawatt data center in Jamnagar, Gujarat, which could be used for operating AI models from OpenAI and Meta. Discussions regarding this aspect have also taken place.
Meta has not commented on the matter, while OpenAI and Reliance have yet to provide an official response.
