Regional PoP of ISPAB-NIX Launched in Cumilla

Following its establishment in Dhaka and other divisional cities, the regional Point of Presence (PoP) of ISPAB-NIX has now been set up in Cumilla. The telecommunications service was inaugurated on Saturday, March 15, at Jasim Tower, Madhuri Nonist, Kandirpar, Cumilla, under the initiative of the Bangladesh Internet Service Providers Internet Exchange Trust. The event was officiated by Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce, Md. Abdur Rahim Khan.

According to ISPAB, the initiative aims to provide uninterrupted, high-speed, and secure internet services across the country.

In his speech as the chief guest, Md. Abdur Rahim Khan stated, “The Ministry of Commerce is not only working to expand domestic trade but also facilitating trade agreements with foreign countries to earn foreign currency and procure goods at lower costs. The establishment of ISPAB-NIX is a key measure in saving foreign currency. Through NIX, data exchange can now be conducted at a lower cost, contributing positively not only to internet connectivity but also to the overall economic development of Bangladesh.”

The inauguration ceremony was presided over by ISPAB President Imdadul Haque and moderated by ISPAB General Secretary Nazmul Karim Bhuiyan. Also present at the event were ISPAB Treasurer Md. Asaduzzaman Sujon, Cloud Planet Chairman Dr. Shahed Morshed, Managing Director Mobarak Hossain, and BPC Assistant Director Faisal Khan, among other distinguished guests.
