BUET Announces Admission Results; Steps to Complete Enrollment Process for 2024-25
The Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) has published the results of its undergraduate admission test for the 2024-25 academic year on its official website on Wednesday (February 26). Candidates on the merit list will begin their admission process on March 10. The university has also released the lists of initially selected and waitlisted candidates, along with the departmental allocations based on merit ranking and preferences. Additionally, BUET has provided detailed instructions for both initially selected and waitlisted candidates regarding the steps they must follow for final enrollment.
Step 1: Medical Examination
Candidates who are initially selected must download and print the "Medical Screening Form for Admission" from BUET’s website and complete the first section themselves. The second section must be completed by a registered physician after conducting a health examination and evaluating laboratory reports. The medical examination costs and any required laboratory fees must be borne by the candidates.
If vision impairments are detected, candidates may opt for a re-examination within seven days. Other temporary medical conditions, such as hydrocele or hernia, may allow for a one-month re-evaluation period. In such cases, BUET’s Chief Medical Officer may recommend further consultation with a specialist, but this recommendation must be approved by the Chairman of the Admission Committee for the 2024-25 session.
Step 2: Payment of Admission Fees
Candidates must pay an admission fee of 7,150 BDT for engineering and urban and regional planning programs, while those enrolling in the architecture department must pay 7,200 BDT. The payment must be made through a demand draft or pay order from Sonali Bank Limited, payable to "Comptroller, BUET-Dhaka".
The original demand draft or pay order, along with three photocopies, must be submitted in person on the designated date and time. Demand drafts can be issued from any branch of Sonali Bank nationwide, while pay orders can be made only at branches located within the Dhaka City Corporation area.
Step 3: Submission of Documents and Final Enrollment
To finalize their admission, selected candidates must physically appear at the designated venue on the specified date and time, bringing the required documents.
(A) Submission and Verification of Certificates & Documents
Candidates must submit the following original documents along with one photocopy:
- Secondary School Certificate (SSC) or equivalent certificate
- SSC transcript or grade sheet
- Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) or equivalent transcript or grade sheet
Note: Photocopies do not require attestation. The original transcripts and certificates will be retained by BUET’s admission office and will not be returned until the completion of the admission process.
