Huawei Heralds Heroic ICT Hopefuls on China Tour
The eight winners of Huawei’s “Seeds for the Future 2025, Bangladesh” program have embarked on their 10-day China tour. The students include Sayed Atif Raihan of American International University-Bangladesh, Farisa Zainah Zaman of North South University, Nafim Karim Khan of BRAC University, Md. Rezwan Ullah of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Tasnia Iffat of Dhaka University, Md. Safius Sifat of Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET), Nufsat Faruk of Islamic University of Technology, and Wasif Uddin.
During the visit, the students will participate in the Digital Talent Summit, receive training on 5G, AI, IoT, and smart city technologies, and engage in social networking activities, according to a press release from Huawei Bangladesh on Sunday, 18 August.
The release noted that the winners, selected from countries around the world, are taking part in this stage to learn about cutting-edge technology and innovation. In addition to expert-led training, they will have the opportunity to interact with industry leaders at the Digital Talent Summit, gaining practical experience and insights to prepare them to lead Bangladesh’s ICT sector in the future.
Tanvir Ahmed, Head of External Communications, Huawei South Asia, said, “This year marks the 12th edition of the ‘Seeds for the Future’ program in Bangladesh. It is not merely a competition for students, but a unique opportunity to acquire knowledge about ICT and telecommunications both at home and abroad. Through their participation and performance in such a global event, Bangladeshi students have established their own position. They also gain tremendous networking opportunities. We believe this year’s winners will make the most of every opportunity in the program, enhance their skills, and contribute significantly to Bangladesh’s ICT journey.”
This year, eight students were selected as Bangladesh winners from nearly 3,000 applications through interviews, written tests, and fluent presentations. Internationally, the Seeds for the Future program has had a remarkable impact, benefiting over 18,000 students from 141 countries and conducting more than 500 collaborative activities with leading universities and colleges worldwide.
