Microsoft has left the observer status of OpenAI

Software giant Microsoft has stepped down as an observer on OpenAI's board of directors before coming under fire from regulators. Microsoft claims that in the last 8 months, OpenAI has made significant improvements in their management. News Reuters.

Currently, regulatory bodies in Europe and the United States are scrutinizing OpenAI's management. In the meantime, Microsoft made such a decision.

According to a report in The Financial Times, Apple was also supposed to serve as an observer on OpenAI's board. But Apple has not yet taken this responsibility. Apple has not commented on the matter.

In November last year, technology giant Microsoft began its position as a non-voting observer on OpenAI's board. That is, Microsoft could have participated in OpenAI's board meetings and had access to the company's internal confidential information. However, Microsoft had no voting rights or any role in the election of directors.

Microsoft sent a letter to OpenAI on July 9 about stepping down from the observer status. The letter said, 'We have witnessed the remarkable progress of the newly constituted board in the last eight months and we are confident in the direction of the company. In view of these issues, I think that our limited role as an observer is not necessary.
