Internet will be slow across the country due to maintenance work at the Singapore end of the country's first submarine cable (SEA-ME-4) system in Cox's Bazar.

On Saturday, March 2, internet services will be slow for 12 hours from 7 am to 7 pm. However, circuits connected through the country's second submarine cable (EA-ME-5) at Kuakata will remain operational.

BSC PLC authorities have expressed regret for the inconvenience caused to the customers during the maintenance work.

Bangladesh Submarine Cables PLC informed the matter in a press release on Wednesday, February 28.

According to the notification, the consortium will carry out maintenance work at the Singapore end of the country's first submarine cable (SEA-ME-4) system in Cox's Bazar. For this work, circuits connected through submarine cables will be partially or completely closed for about 12 hours from 7 am to 7 pm on Saturday, March 2. As a result, BSCPLC customers may experience temporary internet slowdowns or internet service disruptions.
