Grameenphone stands by the flood victims along with Bangladesh Red Crescent Society

Mobile phone operator Grameenphone stands by the flood victims on an emergency basis in the ongoing flash flood situation.

Based on mutual cooperation with Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS), the operator will deliver relief food to 10,000 families in flood affected areas. In addition, Grameenphone will arrange five water treatment plants and five mobile medical teams to ensure the necessary health care in order to provide safe drinking water according to the field level situation.

Head of ESG of Grameenphone Farhana Islam said, "Grameenphone believes in standing by the people of the society in such a critical situation. In addition to the steps taken by our company, we have also taken steps to collect donations from employees, so that they have the opportunity to voluntarily stand by the side of the needy. Their personal assistance will be used for the needs of the affected people. We are determined to always stand by the people in need of the society."

Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS) Chairman Professor Dr. M. U. Kabir Chowdhury said, "Due to floods, a dire crisis has arisen in several parts of the country. Our cooperation with Grameenphone is very important to stand by these disaster-affected people and deliver the necessary assistance and relief in time.
